Topic outline:

Literacy: This term we will be focusing on being able to write

some recognisable letters of our name and making a good
attempt at writing our first name. Please help your child by
practising this at home. Writing your name can be fun. Try it in
the bath or using pasta shapes. Make some playdough and make
the letters of your childs name or have a try at making bath
paint.
Please read with your child every day. Bedtime stories are a
brilliant way to bond with your child and relax them for a good
nights sleep. Have a chat about what happened in the stories,
who was their favourite character? What do they think will
happen?
Mathematics: This term we will expect all of the children to be
able to recite their numbers to 10. Help them by singing counting
songs. For those that have already achieved this we will be
continuing to recognise numbers 1-10 and counting out the
correct amount to match the numeral. At home show your child a
number and ask them to clap that many times or stamp their
feet. We will continue to play with and explore shapes and learn
the name of 2D shapes.
