Topic outline:

Literacy: This half term we are learning to listen


and enjoy stories. We will be talking about the
stories we have read. We will be learning to
recognise our own names.

Mathematics: This half term we are starting to
recognise and count numbers to 10. We will be
playing with and exploring shapes.

Understanding of the world: This half term we will
be talking about our families and special events.









Suggested books:

Traditional stories for example Goldilocks and the Three Bears,
Little Red Riding Hood, The Gingerbread Man, the Three Little
Pigs.

Nursery Rhymes

Check the school library and Bolling Hall library.





Suggested visits:

Visit family and let your child discuss their
time in Nursery.
Visit the park and talk about the things they
can do for example jumping, balancing and
skipping.
Go for a walk and talk about all the different
houses that they can see and who might live in
them.












Topic challenges (you can choose just one):

1. We challenge you to bring a baby picture or a
picture of your family into Nursery.

2. We challenge you to draw a picture of you and
your family.

3. We challenge you to read a bedtime story every
night.
