COMPETENCY 5.1
. Identify social policy at the local, state, and
federal level that impacts well-being, service
delivery, and access to social services
Ex: The new federal policy coming into pertaining
to TANF will impact many people who use those
service if they do not meet new requirements.

COMPETENCY 5.2
Assess how social welfare and economic policies
impact the delivery of and access to social
services.
Ex: informing clients and participant about new
changes in policy and how they will be effected if
they can not met new requirements.

COMPETENCY 5.3
Apply critical thinking to analyze, formulate, and
advocate for policies that advance human rights
and social, economic, and environmental justice
Ex: participate in community advocacy activities
and event such as Healthy Start family day to
promote parental involvement and keeping
families together.
