    engineer, he was intrigued by the notion of using a ground
    source heat pump to provide heating and hot water. The
    system provides significant running cost savings and
    reduced carbon emissions when compared to a conventional
    oil-fired system. He plans to further increase the efficiency
    of the heat pump by linking it to a solar hot water system.
