Entry- Parenting Styles w/ Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars is great explanation of parenting styles that are discussed in
development across lifespan class. Two of the main parenting styles of Alison DiLaurentiss
parents are authoritative and neglectful. Alisons mother is no longer living, yet her father is.

Her father was an authoritative parent (which is a parent who raises their child with
support and takes responsibility for that child) but when Alis (Ali is short for Alison)
sister, Charlotte, was released from a mental institution, her father and brother decided
not live with Ali and Charlotte because they did not agree with her release. The fathers
parenting style went from authoritative to neglectful. He is absent in her life as well as
her brother and wants nothing to do with Alison. Now, she lives by herself (Charlotte has
recently been murdered) in two-story, beautiful house.
