Deliverable

A custom designed
prosthetic hand for
Jocelyn. Hopefully she
will be able to play
softball with it (throwing
and catching)

A prosthetic hand for a

7 year old girl named
Jocelyn.

Jocelyn is not happy

with her prosthetic
hand.

Documentation

In-depth blog with posts

3-times a month. Each
post will be thoughtful
and thoroughly explain
my learning.

A blog post on the

progress of the
prosthetic arm every
other week on my DP.
These blog posts will
include pictures, videos,
and will explain the
progress (both success
and fails) Ive gone
through.

My blog posts do not

show enough depth of
learning and are not
posted every other
week on Thursday.

Exhibition

Hopefully Jocelyn and

her mom, Jaimie, will
be able to come. I will
also maybe make a
video to explain the
prototyping process.

I will exhibit the

prosthetic arm and
demonstrate the
prototyping progress
through physical
prosthetic arm
prototypes.

I did not explain/show

the prototyping process
and what Ive learnt.

Documentation Description:
Make sure to use objective, quantifiable goals as often as possible.
Each blog update will include a write up of my current progress, what am planning on working on or
improving, what Ive learnt (this can be about myself, the people Im working with, or the
software/hardware Im learning), and any pictures or videos. My post will be updated every other
Thursday.
Project Description:
Make a prosthetic hand for a 7 year old girl named Jocelyn (or Joci for short). During the processes I will
use already designed prosthetic hands for reference and hopefully design my own custom hand using
CAD Creo Parametric and 3D printer at Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab, where I interned in January. During
this project I will go through many prototypes to find the perfect fit, style, and comfort for Joci. My main
goal is to make Joci happy.
