Activity Title: Who Does What?

Activity Summary: The purpose of this activity is for students to learn the roles of authority figures
at home, at school, and in government. In this activity the student will match authority figures to
their traditional roles in society.
Learning Objective: Given a word bank of various jobs and pictures of authority figures,
kindergarten social studies students will match the jobs to the authority figures with 80%
accuracy.
Grade Level Expectation: The student will understand the roles of parents, school principles,
volunteers, police officers, fire and rescue workers, mayor, governor, and the president.
State Performance Indicators: K.20 Identify roles of authority figures at home, at school, and in
government to include parents, school principal, volunteers, police officers, fire and rescue
workers, mayor, governor, and president.
