Alberto Giacometti was a Swiss sculptor, painter, and printmaker born in 1901 who died in 1966. Some of his most famous works included "Mountain Landscape at Maloja" from 1920 and "Still Life with Apples" from 1937. In 1960, Giacometti created the sculpture "Walking Man" made of bronze to represent Holocaust victims and bring awareness to World War 2. For her poster, Hafsa Sabbagh chose to bring awareness to hunger by creating a colorful hamburger with the words "STOP HUNGER NOW" to convey that too many people are dying from hunger when others waste food.

Alberto Giacometti was a great sculptor, painter, and printmaker. So Alberto
Giacometti made detailed drawings and made technical plans. He was born in Stampa, Graubunden, Switzerland, on October 10, 1901, and died on January 11, 1966, in Chur, Graubunden, Switzerland. He made a lot of masterpieces, like the "Mountain Landscape at Maloja"in 1920, "Still Life with Apples"in 1937, "Walking Man", and etc.. Alberto's interest in art, was encouraged by his father Giovanni Giacometti, which was a Post Impressionist painter. In 1960, Giacometti made a sculpture called the Walking Man. The sculpture is made of bronze. It represents the Jew in the Holocaust and posts the realities of what was going on in World War 2. The sculpture was 185.25 by 96.52 by 26.67 centimeters. The Walking Man looks like he has no breathe can go through his body from how thin he is. Also the head looks shrinks and the legs are really thin. You can as well see that the sculpture/man can hardly stand up. For my poster awarement, I did it on hunger. I wanted to convey the message that there is way too many people dying because of hunger. A lot of the people can help and so can we. I choose this particular social issue, because it is a massive problem that needs to be fixed. We throw away so much food that someone else is in need of it. I made my poster by putting the words, "STOP HUNGER NOW", in a colorful hamburger made by me.
