Proposal for end-of-year trip

Extracurricular projects such as college trips represent a practical way of helping students to bond
and develop their personality and character in a risk-free way, while indulging in various activities
that help in further building and strengthening general knowledge, relationships and skills. Our
college boasts a great number of such successful endeavours, and it has become a tradition for us to
organise an end-of-year excursion for those students who prove along the year to be worthy of
being rewarded for their academic results and achievements.
Location
This year's proposed location is Burton, an old mansion set in a beautiful natural park at the heart of
the mountains, fifty miles from the city. It seems to be an ideal option, due to the availability in
terms of price, its breathtaking surroundings, the array of activities it presents the students with, as
well as the friendly personnel employed there. Burton offers accommodation in a dozen large twoand three-bed rooms with own bathrooms, each room being original in design; the ground floor
hosts a large dining room and a kitchen, as well as a game room with pool tables and a home
cinema. The grounds are large, with several ponds and a swimming pool, a trampoline and a small
forest for walks.
Activities
The activities the students can indulge in range from swimming and walking to sports and games, as
afore stated. In addition, we aim at contracting an outdoor company to organize scouting events,
bonfires and contests for the participants. The schedule will be fairly demanding, while at the same
time allowing the students free time on their own, giving them the opportunity to withdraw
whenever they feel like it. To this intent, the study on the ground floor will be equipped with books,
magazines and computers with free wi-fi access.
Conclusion
High achievers need to be motivated, as much as they deserve to be rewarded. The aim of our
college is precisely that, which is why we salute the board's efforts to maintain the standards of this
event year after year. This year's location, Burton, offers the perfect combination between a
pleasant accommodation and an interesting array of activities. We hope that the above presentation
will convince the College Board that Burton is, indeed, the perfect host for our high achievers.
