Introduction to the lesson: Group students in pairs for the

session with one strong student and one student that might need
additional instruction. 5 min

5 Steps:

OUTLINE of key events during the lesson: Write several

review problems on the board. Have the more adept student of
each pair remain seated while the other half of the pair goes to
the board. The seated student will instruct the student at the
board by telling them what to write to solve the problem. Then
review the problems as a class while writing the 5 steps to solve
the problem on another board. Finally, have the students
change places reminding the students that are now directing the
solution to use the previous example and the 5 steps on the
board as their guide. 30 min (10 min for each student in the pair
with 10 min in the middle to review the process step by step)
Closing summary for the lesson: Remind students once again
that there is a quiz and stress the 5 steps needed to obtain the
solution. Make sure they check their notes to ensure they have
the five steps in their notes. 10 Min
