The Ark Project: work and exhibit art works during the Spring 2017 event in May.
Description of residency program
The Ark Project is pleased to offer 1 artist the possibility to work and exhibit art works during the Spring (May) 2017
Event.
The idea is to enable artists to access the San Francisco Bay Area Art Market.
We can further offer the services of a Mentor (Resident Artist) and / or a professional
Creativity Coach to accompany the creative process and to generate success.
The exhibition will be held in the presence of an Art Curator.
The Goal
The Ark Project is an independent artist-run art studio and exhibition space realized in 2016 with a focus on creation,
presentation, and documentation of contemporary art in all forms that engage discovery, transformation and
innovation. The program mission is to promote intercultural dialogue and artist mobility.
The Location
The location of the exhibition is ideal, as Oakland has one of the largest art communities in the USA. It is close to the
city center of San Francisco and in the focus of the California art world. In the vicinity of Oakland and close to the new
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the exhibition will be staged in the arts district of West Oakland. The cultural
mix of the surrounding area and concentration of bay area art galleries make the place a unique and enriching
experience to visit.
