Many of the films they have produced are similar to The Speculum,
Paranormal Activity, a supernatural film, used one location to film the
entirety of it and used a house as the way of making character seem trapped. Marketing techniques: - Identifies cinemas popular with horror to reduce expenditure - Targeted theatres rather than broadcasted advertising but digital promotion - Simple equipment makes it seem realistic to the audience and believable (the hook for Paranormal Activity)
Why wed use Blumhouse Productions
Much like Paranormal Activity, The Speculum would be
low budget yet appealing to mainstream audiences. We would
use the technique Blumhouse used by being selective with the theatres that show the film. Wed do this to reduce expenditure and maximise profit. We use in our film regular equipment that would be found in a normal house which is similar to films such as Insidious. They do also produce mainly the same genre of horror films as we made.
