Matters Arising from the Previous Meeting

2) Workplace Health & Safety

Team will go through the HEC building this afternoon and will report to ILD any issues or
concerns.

3) Room Allocations

Updates to the rooming as per SCRs room allocation suggestions have been made to the
timetable. Copies of the timetable schedule were provided to all staff.
H6 is to be the textiles room from now on. Implications for GIM Yr 8 = nothing, has use of
this room and H5. Implications for ORR Yr 8 = will need to swap rooms with BUJ/KIN
10HOSP (H6) when it is a textiles term (will stay in H5 for the most of this term until
sewing machines are needed).
Clash between KIN/BUJ 9HEc and SCR 8HEc sorted for kitchens Day 3 available for both.

o Changes have been made to the You Are What You Eat Unit now will be Power
Balance. UBD is currently being updated.

o Change to the breakfast unit investigate iron instead of protein.

5) Australian Curriculum

Home Economics fits across both HPE and Technology. We fit with the investigating part
of the HPE standard elaborations and the Generating, Producing, Evaluating,
Collaborating and Managing of Technologies. As it is anticipated that a Home Economics
in the Australian Curriculum document is scheduled for 2016, we will wait for that advice
before making major changes to assessment and criteria.

Yr 9 End of Term Multicultural Foods Outing (eg Korean BBQ).

8) Kitchen and Textiles Equipment / Resource Requirements

Textiles order is being compiled, to be finalised next week for Helen to purchase
SCR to investigate the purchase of an updated FoodWorks Professional to discuss with
ILD.

Proposal to organise a common time to regularly meet within current required school
hours.
