ABSTRACT
Sertaline is one of the most prescribed drugs in the world. This
paper is to play the role of summing up some of the information
needed for users to know before consumption and for broader
knowledge. It is also the most useful information about the drugs
summed up in one paper. Most basic information is to be found in
here.

INTRODUCTION
Sertraline is an antidepressant from a group of drugs called
selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Sertraline is a drug
that affects chemicals in the brain in which may cause unbalance
in people with depression, panic, anxiety, or obsessivecompulsive symptoms such as Bipolar and mixed feelings if taken
of drugs after a long time of consumption. In 1977, two men
known as Kenneth Koe and Willard Welch who worked at Pfizer
1

(American global pharmaceutical corporation) did some other

experiments with different forms of Tametraline compounds
(mixed tametraline and other drugs) leading them to find "a
serotonin reuptake inhibitor" that would later be known as
sertraline (Zoloft.) In 1991Sertaline was officially approved by the
FDA.
