    Auschwitz was a concentration camp located in southern Poland that consisted of three camps: a prison, an extermination camp, and a slave labor camp. Trains transported thousands of Jews daily to Auschwitz from across Europe. Upon arrival, prisoners had all personal items and clothing taken away and were given camp uniforms. Living conditions were extremely harsh, with little sanitation and large numbers of people per barracks, resulting in widespread disease. Many prisoners were also killed through gas chambers, medical experiments, hangings, starvation cells, or mass shootings. Over 1 million people died at Auschwitz during its four and a half years of operation.

    Immediately after they arrive
    at Auschwitz, they were
    completely stripped from
    your identity.

    Their clothes were taken and
    they were given new ones
    Yet some didn't even do
    anything and they were sent
    straight to the gas chambers
