What should I expect in 5th/6th Grade?

(Language Arts and Social Studies)

Expectations
1. We will develop a genuine love for learning by daring to think, write and
read in new and different ways.
2. We will be fearless in asking questions for clarification and curiosity.
3. We will set high personal goals and do our best to surpass them.
4. We will encourage, support and respect our peers inside and outside the
classroom.

---------------------------------------------------------Discipline and Conduct:

Students who do not reach behavioral expectations will always receive a verbal warning
from a faculty/staff member. Students, who do not correct their behavior after the
warning, will lose the privilege of their subsequent recess. After these two warnings, if
the student still does not reach behavioral expectations, they will be given a conduct
(Red) slip. Students who receive 3 red slips will earn detention.
School Policy Regarding Slips
Uniform slip Students will be given a uniform slip if they are not following the uniform
guidelines set in the school handbook. There will no verbal warnings. If students receive
3 uniform slips within a trimester, they will be given detention.
Conduct slip Students will be given a conduct slip if they do not follow
school/classroom rules. If students receive 3 conduct slips within a trimester, they will be
given detention.
