Respected authorities,
I have to provide some feedback for the betterment of the distance
learning programme of COMSATS.
Below is my feedback
We are engaged in a distant learning atmosphere, not in a regular
one. Teachers must consider the mind level of students while
recording video lecture. Its very difficult for so many students to
understand lectures clearly because students belong to different
areas of Pakistan and each have a different caliber of
understanding. Due to low social background, many students do
not have strong command on English, which creates a barrier in
understanding the subject matter.
You are better aware of the electricity shortfall in Pakistan and
other financial issues, too. There are not many students who can
afford laptops. Its very difficult to study in such a difficult
situation.
In my previous two semesters my experience is was not
commendable. Some teachers/tutors do not give proper time.
After repeated emails, the tutor/teacher only replies with
important questions, keeping explanation to a minimum. If a
student does not want to be just a degree holder and insists on
knowing depths, he/she is discouraged by such short replies.
Some other issues are as follows:
I could not give NTS Test when I got admission in VCOMSATS but
when test was conducted officially by VCOMSATS, my name was
absent in the list of test-takers. For that, I called students affairs
and discussed the matter with them on which they replied that I
need to take the test on my own behalf. Still now so many
students have not given their NTS Test but Student Affairs was
silent on the matter..
There is no motivation from teacher side to encourage or
motivate student to study or increase our spirits.

 Sometimes I feel that I am just wasting my time here in the end

no reward.
Many students are professionals with official duty hours. All the
live sessions are held on week days and in working hours so it is
not feasible for the job holders, including myself, to attend live
sessions at office. This should be considered while planning time
for live sessions.
Chat is available on Gmail provided by university. Most issues of
students may be resolved there easily but chats are often unreplied.
COMSATS should start a social media forum same as FACEBOOK
where the class mates and teachers share their views on
prescribed topics because many students will prefer interaction
on a social level.
Authorities, I am not criticizing anything. I am only conveying the
problems we as students face. Please consider my requests/feedbacks.
MY SUGGESTION
1. Teachers must take proper feedback about the subjects.
2. Usually, Live Sessions do not work properly so SKYPE is preferred.
3. There are many students who dont even know how to join a live
session.
4. Some teachers discourage students who ask questions by simply
saying that we do not study properly.
5. Handouts are received a month after the semester begins. It is
preferable to send us handouts in start.
6. The lectures of Sir Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Sir Javed Iqbal, Sir Abid
Saeed were good. I really dont have words to appreciate them
these are my ideal teachers and taught us very nicely. Their
lectures may be taken as examples.
Many students have sent many emails but there has been no proper
response by the management. I hope this time authorities consider
our issues. This mail is on behalf of all students.
