Meeting Minutes

Call to order at 1:05pm on February 8, 2016.

A meeting of the Grand Haven Croquet Board of Directors was held at Creekside on February 8, 2016.
Attendees included Cassandra Gaisor, Tony Dos Santos, Bill Todd, Naomi Mass, Antonia Marmo,
George Betz, John Fitterman.

Approval of minutes
The Minutes of the January 18, 2016 Board meeting were approved.

Reports
Treasurer Bill Todd Opening & Closing balance is $ 12,657.53.
President Cassandra Gaisor

A lengthy discussion took place regarding the turning of the Creekside Court and George Betz
advised that after meeting with the maintenance crew, he learned that the court will be turned
on a 5 week cycle.
The responsibility of the Monday games will be turned over to Bill Todd, and he will determine
whether the format needs to be changed, depending on the participation.
Don Oakley "The Mallet Man" will be visiting the Friday morning clinic on 2/26/16.
An e-mail went out to ascertain how many of the lower handicaps (10's and under) were
interested in a "no frills" sanctioned 2 day Tournament. Only 4 responded.
A suggestion was made that we revisit having non-sanctioned handicap matches. The points
awarded, following USCA guidelines, would only be used as "Club Points" and would not be
reported to the USCA. This has been taken under advisement.
Fred Jones has been contacted and is willing to serve again as the hired Tournament Director
for the fall GHCC Invitational Tournament that is scheduled for October 19 th through October
22, 2016.
Insurance Naomi Mass handling the processing of the 4/11/16 renewal.

Nominations Naomi Mass, the board member of this committee, reported that so far only two
of the elected offices had candidates. Rich Burns for President and Bill Todd for Treasurer.

Director's Reports

Membership John Fitterman current membership total is 85.

Social Antonia Marmo working on final details for the Valentines weekend pizza party to be
held at Creekside. She also advised that she is proceeding with the booking and setting of the
menu for the Annual Dinner (5/7/16) to be held in the Grand Haven Room at the Village
Center .
Tournaments George Betz finalizing details of the Valentines weekend play at Creekside.
