THE BURGER CASE

BY CASEY WHATTON

ften on a burger hunt there is the dilemma

of long distances coming into play. One
must ask themselves is the effort greater
than the expected quality of the burger? If
the effort out ways quality then the chase isnt
worth it. Though, this is not the case for the
Trufflenator. However, when they decided to bring
the Trufflenator to Woollahra, the effort was far
more reasonable and significantly increased the
likeliness to purchase. Because really, who enjoys
travelling to the Northern Beaches besides tourists
and the locals.
The effort equation was easy to figure out, as the
reputation surrounding the venue is one many
establishments would die for.
The contents of the Trufflenator consisted of two
Wagyu beef patties as standard (which should be
for all burgers in my opinion), onion rings, truffle
mayo, truffle butter, truffle-infused provolone,
truffle maple syrup, American cheddar, Japanese
milk buns, and crispy bacon. All, of course,
equating to an awesome truffle-packed burger.
As I looked around, most faces were engulfed
by the beast that is the Trufflenator. Many
werent speaking, too busy concentrating on
tucking into their burger and savouring every
moment.
The highlights were the onion rings, in my
books they step-up the burger to another level
and you cant have enough of them. They add
a different crunchy texture, which goes well
with the patties. The milk buns were slightly
sweet and soft, yet held the burger intact very
well and was a considerable player in making
this a great burger. Biting into the burger the
first thing I noticed was the bun.
The burger had lived up to the hype
completely; it was juicy, saucy, and well made
with not one piece of filling falling out during
the devouring leaving the hands completely
dry. I give the Trufflenator 4/5 stars.
