I would interpret these numbers to show a gradual increase from


1997-2001.
These were the first year of the NHL Concussion program
and may have been due to an increase in reporting of injuries rather
than an actual increase in the number of concussions.
Then, the
injury numbers went down. Since 2002, we seem to have a stable number
of concussions at around 72 per year.
