Hello Everyone!

Well what can I say about this week other than my companion and I keep going back and forth with
getting sick? My poor Hermana McDermaid got hit with the flu Friday morning and I have been recovering
from last week's flu! Well we are both exhausted because our sleep schedules are all out of whack with
being sick! Haha we are just making do with what life deals to us! We lost our car for a few days and the
hard part with that is it takes us an hour to walk from one side of our area to the other, so we struggled to
get many lessons in this week, two to be exact! But they were wonderful lessons!
Marisa:
She continues to come to church and she received a beautiful priesthood blessing yesterday from
Hermano Huerta and Hermano Dominguez. We are so happy with all the progress she is making and her
incredible testimony. We keep praying for things to fall into place so she can be baptized soon. I keep
praying that I will be here when it happens. I truly love her so much and want to see her in the temple in
white!
Mari and Ever:
Mari has been sick for two weeks and has not been able to go to work let alone church. She did not come
to church yesterday or Ever. We read the Book of Mormon with her and she is in Ether 12. She just keeps
on reading! Ever promised he would read and we will find out if he did tonight!
Pilar:
Hermana Huerta was able to get in touch with her and she is slammed with work, but if she has Sunday
off she will be at church. She has been away taking care of some thing for a few weeks. Hoping we can
catch her sometime this week!
Victor:
He is doing well! Little by little! The Elders are doing a lot to help him! They dragged him to FHE last
week, where he knew some people and enjoyed playing real life, Hungry-Hungry Hippos. He did not get
to church with them yesterday, but little-by-little he is making his way back to the gospel.
This past week we had the privilege of attending the first ever Utah Orem Mission Musical Fireside!

It was truly a lot of fun! Matt Holland was powerful with his message about Joseph Smith! The Utah Orem
Institute Choir was AMAZINGLY! Enjoyed testimonies, a talk, musical numbers by missionaries and
singing "Send Me" our Utah Orem Mission song with all the missionaries at the end! Such a strong spirit
was in that meeting! I hope all the investigators, less-actives and recent converts felt the Spirit touch their
hearts as well!
My Spiritual thought for the week is for each of you to watch from the Joseph Smith Papers about the
events before Joseph Smith was born and during his childhood before the First Vision. President Holland
discussed only a portion of these events during his part of the fireside about Joseph Smith and The
Restoration. It is no coincidence how everything played out before and during his childhood which led to
the second most important event, next to the Atonement of Jesus Christ, that would change the world as
they knew it. He was chosen before he was born, to usher in the last dispensation of the fullness of times.
I testify with the very conviction of my soul that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. He did in fact see
Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. They revealed to him that he was to establish the
Lord's church once again upon the earth. He gave his life for this gospel and for the precious evidence
that you and I can read, The Book of Mormon. You and I can pray to know if The Book of Mormon is true.
If it is true, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church upon the earth, Jesus
Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world, and Joseph Smith was truly indeed a prophet called of
God to establish His church upon the earth once again.

I die a firm believer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I
know that the Gospel is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of the living God, I am dying a martyr
to the faith. - Parley P. Pratt
I add, once agin, my witness that I know as surely as my great-great-great grandfather Parley P. Pratt
declared, that this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it is true. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I
will live my life with conviction to my faith until the day the Lord calls me home. I, too will die a firm
believer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Of this I so testify in
the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Have a wonderful week! Keep the faith!
Con Amor,
Hermana Rackley
