Provides pharmaceutical information. It contains both abbreviated

updates, or information about the different marketing statuses of drugs.

· Centers for Disease Control


and Prevention (CDC) website Provides vaccine information.

It has monthly published Vitalsigns report provides pertinent information on


a variety of health topics including HIV and injection drug use, prescription
drug abuse, and food safety.

DailyMed provides information about human drugs, animal drugs, and it also
has a link to a tool (Pillbox) to help identify tablets and capsules.

Obtain information related to indications (drug purposes), doses,


contraindications, warnings and precautions, adverse reactions, drug
interactions, uses in specific populations, inactive ingredients, storage
information, packaging information, and other more scientific-based
pharmacology information.

· MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus contains information on prescription and over-the-counter
medications written in lay language.

MedlinePlus has a thoughtful section of information on herbs and


supplements.

MedlinePlus also contains medication safety alerts from the FDA and health
videos.

· Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA) Provides up-to-date information on controlled substances that will help you
stay current with federal laws and regulations.

It includes resources for drug disposal and the latest reports.

The Pharmacist’s Manual is also available through the DEA website.

· PubMed
All sorts of published trials are included in this database – clinical trials, case
reports, retrospective analyses, etc. PubMed is a dynamic search engine for
trials, and this page details how to manage your search inquiries to maximize
results from the engine.
