Course Code : MGT 311 Pre-requisite: MGT 211 Introduction: Typically corporate strategy rests on two pillars of organizational strategy and technology strategy. The three components of strategy , corporate strategy, organizational strategy, and technology strategy needs to be synchronized to get optimum leverage in executing strategy. Thus an understanding of organizational design, structures, and processes, and their relationship to technology is needed in order to develop an organizational strategy consistent with corporate strategy and technologies. This course aims to prepare you to participate in the design of high performance organizations. The first session will provide you with the introduction, and some basic concepts of organization structure The rest of the sessions consists of sessions that address the external and internal factors that influence organization design.
