TERM GIFT

Rotary International District 3190

Term gift is a named endowment made by an individual or and

organisation. It is a giving and naming opportunity to support global grants
in Rotarys areas of focus. The gift will be used in its entirety for its
intended purpose.
The donor can be a Rotarian/Rotary Trust or a non Rotary entity.
No fees or deductions are taken from the gift. 100% of the gift is made
available for global grants.
Donors are given major donor recognition.
The minimum contribution has to be $30,000. It can be higher also and
can be topped up till put to use. Term gifts do not receive a Foundation
match; however any District Designated Fund or other cash contributions
used to fund the project budget over the amount of the term global grant
receive the normal Foundation match.
Normally, the gift is available for redemption in the following Rotary year.
However, TRF may agree to redeem it early, if the project need is urgent.
The Term gift is to be redeemed through a Global grant, which covers the
focus area mentioned in the Gift. All requirements of a GG are to be met
except that the contribution from the international partner can be any
amount. (not necessary to be 30% min,as in a normal GG)
Districts have the option to add cash and/or District Designated Fund to
term gifts benefiting their district in order to do a larger grant.

District can split a term gift/global grant and add District Designated Fund
and /or cash in order to fund multiple global grants. For instance if the gift
is for $40,000, the district can use $20,000 each on two global grants and
supplement the difference by adding cash and/or District Designated Fund
to each grant to reach the $30,000 minimum global grants project budget.
However, both global grants must carry the name of the donor and comply
with any restrictions and/or preferences placed on the gift by the donor.
Term gifts are included in a clubs and districts total giving but they are not
included in Annual Fund or per capita giving totals.
80G certificate is made available and is of advantage for the donors.
