strengthen national unity.

national education system has been
opposed ever since preindependence 1951 in the Barnes
Report.

Not mastering the national


language : B. Malaysia

Mediocre fluency in Bahasa


Malaysia.
Less chance in speaking/conversing
using Bahasa Malaysia
Suggestions:
Trilingual Education system
(Singaporean)

Anti-Unity
Small chance in getting to know about
other races.
Not mastering the national language
language barrier among races.

Opinions:
Closing down vernacular schools: anger,
unhappiness and ill feeling inter-ethnic
tensions

Problems facing by governments


Reduce educational resources
For example a Tamil school having 5-10
students in single intake : waste of
resources

Providing new teachers


Government struggling to place new

New teachers unemployed
Chinese schools are insufficient supply
of teachers
