Mural Design Competition 2016

The competition is to design a concept for mural panels or one large mural for the toilet block in the Utilities
Reserve adjacent to the boat ramp at Tanners Point reflecting the special character of this location.
The winning concept may be painted by the artist that submitted the design selected or by another artist. In
both cases this will be a separate contract or arrangement to the competition.

Declaration
I declare that the art work submitted is my original work and does not infringe the copyright or other intellectual
property rights of any other person.
I give permission for the information provided on the design concept and artist background and the photos provided of
myself and the concept design to be used by the organizing committee for promotional and archival purposes free of
charge.
Further, if my concept design is selected for use I give permission for the organising committee, the Western Bay of
Plenty District Council and Katch Katikati to use reproduced images, including digital images, of the mural once
painted, free of charge.
By submitting my entry, I agree to accept the following entry terms and conditions:
All work submitted must be original and not infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any
other person.
More than one artist may work on a design concept but the contribution of each artist will be deemed equal
and shared. All artists must sign declaration for entry to be valid.
A short-list of up to 4 entries will selected by the Tanners Point Community. The final design selected will be
decided from this short-list by the organizing committee in consultation with the Western Bay of Plenty
District Council.
The organizing committee will decide who will paint the mural or mural panels from the design concept
selected. This will be done under a separate contract or arrangements from the concept design competition. It
is envisaged that the mural or panels will become the property of the WBOPDC, but these aspects can only
be finalized once the final design has been selected and a formal Public Art application by TPRRA to the
WBOPDC has been submitted and accepted.
Entries close on 15th June. The short-list of entries will be decided by the end of June and the final selection
determined as soon as practically possible after this.
