Poetry Play and Techniques!!

:)
This week as we write poetry, find a spot (whether in your notebook or on your iPad) where you
can keep ALL that we write and explore.
Poetry Share - Each day we are going to hear someones poem shared. Please take one word,
phrase, thought, etc. from that sharing back to your own poetry writing. Who knows, it may
spark something!! :)

******************************************************
Lets get your poetry juices flowing . . .
This Is Just To Say
William Carlos Williams, 1883 - 1963
I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox
and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast
Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

Your turn - I am sure you are sorry for something, but at the end there's always a reason
why you enjoyed doing what youre expressing sorrow for. Write your own little tongue-in-cheek
poem apologizing for something. :)
