    Steps:

    Diapering Procedure

    1. Get Organized:
    a. Assemble supplies
    b. Paper liner to cover table surface
    c. Diaper, wipes, diaper cream (if used), gloves, soap + water,
    disinfector-bleach
    2. Place child on changing table
    a. Always have one hand on child or use a
    safety belt
    b. Take diaper off after removing clothes
    c. Clean the bottom from front to back
    3. Remove soiled diaper and discard
    a. Fold diaper underneath and roll up
    b. Place in a foot-operated garbage can
    c. Remove gloves
    4. Put on clean diaper and dress child
    a. Put on diaper
    b. apply diaper cream with tissue (if used)
    c. Fasten diaper and dress child
    5. Wash childs hands and return to play area
    a. Use soap and water to wash childs hands
    b. Clean and disinfect surfaces of table
    6. Wash hands and record diaper change in daily log
    a. Wash hands with soap and water for 20
    seconds
    b. Turn off water with paper towel
    c. Record information
