Students will be able to design their own logo for their art major using
photoshop or illustrator.

Student Activities &


Procedures

1. History of a logo ppt. (attached)


2. Business basics. Lead into from power point. How business give
guideline, perimeters for submission..file types etc.
3. Ask students where are places they visit that do not have logos,
trademarks or filters that are commonly visited.
4. Have students open up computer to give them guidelines for
geofilter.
5. Explain that students will be working individually to create a
geofilter for OCSA.
6. Next, lead to powerpoint showing snapchats guidelines to submit
design. Designs must be original artwork with no logos or
plagiarism.

Resources/Materials

Students will be provided time in computer lab to work on project.


Apple or Window computers are available.

Assessment

Formative assessment will be two parts. Asking the students to create


a minimum of 4 sketches in their sketchbook of possible designs for
their Geofilter. Also a 10 question pop quiz will be given at the start of
the next class to see if the students identified with the lecture.
Summative assessment will be a formal group critique. Rubric
Provided.

Exceptionalities

Students may need additional time to submit assignment if they are not
proficient in illustrator or photoshop. Originally gave 2 days or
equivalence of 4 classes to create and submit, allowed an extra day for
accommodation.
