Recipe: Stamps - Medallion/Seasonal

Wishes
Ink - Versamark/Bravo Burgundy
Card - Very Vanilla/Kraft/Bravo Burgundy
Other - Bravo Burgundy ribbon/burgundy Stickles/pearl/white embossing powder
Bride Specialty Designer Series Paper.
I sponged Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue and Night of Navy Ink onto the Bride paper. The
swirly, iridescent design resists the ink and leaves such a lovely, shimmery look
Rub-on doily design.
Snowflake Spot set from
StampinUp. The sentiment is from PTI's Silent Night. I punched out the snowflakes
with a 1" circle punch, stuck a rhinestone brad in the center of each, and attached them
over the sentiment with dimensionals
Stamps: Scenic
Season, Serene Snowflakes
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Basic Grey, Basic Black
Ink: Whisper White, Basic Grey
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Sponges, White Embossing Powder, Dazzling Diamonds, White Taffeta
Ribbon

The trees are stamped in white craft ink and embossed with white embossing powder
(be careful when heat embossing vellum!). I added the glittery snow with a 2-way glue
pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

gel pen resist technique stamp on a light
colored cardstock, add highlights to the images with the gel pen, then sponge more
color on top. Then erase the gel pen with a good eraser. This takes a bit of elbow
grease and you don't want to leave it too long, because the longer the gel pen dries, the
harder it is to erase. But you get a lovely ethereal look with this resist technique,
impossible with crayon resist. If you were to try to add these highlights after you did
the sponging, the white gel pen absorbs color from the ink you used and you don't have
the same look at all, at all. Yes, I am STINKIN' CLEVER! I deserve more chocolate!!!

easel card
Add dimension to punched shapes
by gluing only the center of the punched shape down, then use a butter knife or other
flat, dull tool to lift the edges. I used a photo removing tool from Creative Memories.
It's sort of a spatula for removing photos from nasty magnetic albums. But a butter
knife would work just as well.
punched the heart , then I
punched the ornament, so I can control exactly where the heart will be. Then I inked
the whole punch out with versamark ink, I poured some Heat and Stick powder, and
heat it with the heat tool, then I poured some dazzling diamonds glitter and heat it
again to set the glitter, and voila.
Again I inked the snowflake in
Versamark and embossed it with the Copper Embossing Powder twice. Both images
were cut out and raised with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The snowflake was inked in

Versamark and embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder. I repeated the step twice
and cut out the second snowflake. As you can tell I trimmed it down and left a
centerpiece.....which I raised up and added a Chocolate Pearl on top.
• Stampin’ Up! Shimmer Paints* ($5.95 ea.)
o Champagne Mist #116806
o Frost White #116854
o Platinum #116807
• Rubbing Alcohol from the Grocery Store
• Mini Mister (available at your Local Craft Store near the generic inks)
• Card Stock

Formula

• Remove spray head/straw of mini mister from bottle, and set aside.
• Fill Mini Mister to 1/4” below the screw-threads of the bottle with rubbing alcohol.
• SHAKE shimmer paint vigorously to ensure it is well mixed.
• Carefully remove the lid of the shimmer paint and set aside
• DIP the spray head straw end into the shimmer paint and scrape excess paint off along the top
inside edge of the mini mister bottle… it’s ok if it just sticks to the upper part. Rotate to get all the
paint off the straw.
• Repeat the last dipping, scraping action 4 more times.
• Insert spray nozzle into the Mini Mister, make sure it is on tightly and that the cap is in place.
• Replace lid on shimmer paint, and set aside
• Shake the filled mini mister vigorously to ensure it is well mixed.
• Place your cardstock on a paper protected surface and spray with the mist.
• The paper will curl when wet… but will relax and flatten when dry.
• Store the mini mister in a vertical position.. I put mine in a coffee cup on my work table.
• The paint will settle/separate from the rubbing alcohol after a few moments… you can view the
paint color on the bottom of the bottle. Simply shake to reactivate and make sure there is no paint
in the bottom before spraying!

circles from the Ski Slope DP with my
Nesties; Warm Words' "sparkle" was
stamped in Encore silver and the
ornament top was made with SU's
Brushed Silver cardstock punched with
the Scallop Edge punch. I cut the
punched pieces between the scallops to
make the top shape, then added a silver
"string" and a little sparkle (to cover up
an "oops"!) with a Zig Painty! Quick
and easy! I punched some small stars
from my scraps to accent the inside, as

bird is from SU's Best Wishes & more; the sentiment is
a hostess set, Best Yet. The snowflakes are from
Whippersnapper's Winter Schminter. Punchouts are
Handsome Hunter, punched with MS's branch punch;
ribbon is Wide Real Red from SU. Although it is
difficult to see, the snowflakes are glittered, and my
birdie's eye is a tiny red rhinestone!
By layering the 2 dotted square
frames from Borders & Corners square set in silver ink, it gives the illusion of layers.
For some POP- I punched my vellum snowflakes, and used the glue pad to stamp the
snowflake, then dusted on my glitter. Applied the large snowflake with a dimensional. I also
punched a little square, and added a little snowflake to that
Sahara Sand ink on Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped the snowflakes
with Versamark and the little bird with Real Red Craft Ink and then embossed them all with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder

and a heat tool.

embossed the flower with
White e.p. on Certainly Celery c.s. three different times. I cut out each one (in different
places) and layered them on top of each other for a 3-Dimensional look. I layered some
Vellum c.s. over the Celery Snowflake patterned paper to soften it up a bit. The rest is
pretty self explanatory. I just love this patterned paper...the colors are so wonderful
together!

Here's what you need
On Board Trimmings (chipboard)
Sanding Block
Craft Ink
Heat and Stick Powder
Glitter
Heat Tool
Cropadile
Stretch Cord
Powder Pal Trays
Optional: Eyelets, Brads, Stamped Images, other Embelishments

Here's what you do

1. Choose a piece from the On Board Trimming and use the Sanding Block to
smooth any rough edges. If you plan on this being a one sided ornament (with a
photo or stamped image inside), trace the shape of your chipboard onto cardstock.
You can cut this out later and use it for the back of your ornament.

2. If desired, punch a hole in the chipboard, using the Cropadile...so you can add
ribbon or stretch cord later. You can also add an eyelet later if you'd like.

3. Cover the chipboard with Craft Ink. I used an SU Sponge, cut in thirds to apply
the Craft Ink...very liberally. You can also use a dauber, but if it’s a big piece of
chipboard, it will take quite a while. With the sponge, I sometimes get a bit of craft
ink on my fingers, but it applies much quicker…so it's worth it, to me. The key is to
get the chipboard "wet" with ink...both to give the chipboard color and to give the
heat and stick powder something to stick to. My white ink is much wetter than the
red, so it went on a lot quicker.

4. Sprinkle Heat and Stick powder over the Craft Ink and Heat it up using your Heat
Tool. This doesn’t take long. You can easily see as it turns from a powder into hot
liquid glue. For a little extra "glue" you can apply more Heat and Stick powder and
re-heat.

5. While the “glue” is still hot/wet….sprinkle Glitter all over the Ornament. Carefully
tap off excess glitter. Re-heat with the Heat Tool, just briefly, to set the glitter.
Once the glue has cooled (this happens pretty quickly), I give the ornaments a
good "tapping" into my Powder Pals Tray...to remove the excess glitter.

6. If it's a one-sided Ornament, you can add your insert (a photograph, stamped
image, etc) and adhere the cardstock backing with some glue dots. For a two-sided
Ornament, repeat the Craft Ink, Heat and Stick and Glitter steps for the other side.
If any areas need a little "touch up" with more glitter...just use your 2-way glue pen
and apply a bit more glitter. Sometimes the edges need a little touching up.

7. Add Eyelets, Rhinestone Brads, Stretch Cord, Ribbons, Stamped images or

Photographs…so many possibilities! There are some fun examples on page 9 of the
Holiday Mini (click HERE to see them...and the rest of the catalog too!)
For the first ornament, I used Real Red Craft Ink with Romantic Red Glitter. I
stamped the snowman image from Wishing you Cheer, with Black Stazon onto
Shimmery White Cardstock, colored him in with SU markers, and used the 2-
way glue pen to add a little Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to give him some
shimmer of his own! I used glue dots to adhere the image inside and glue dots
again to adhere the cardstock backing for the ornament. For the Snowflake, I used
White Craft Ink with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. For the Star, I used White
Craft Ink with Silver Shine Glitter.
