PrimeMinisterNarendraModirecentlylaunchedtheStandupIndiaschemetoenable
ScheduledCastes,ScheduledTribesandwomenentrepreneurstoaccessloans,settingatargetof
creating2.5lakhsuchentrepreneursacrossthecountry.
Keyfeatures:
Underthescheme1.25lakhbankbrancheswillprovideloansuptoRs1crore.Eachbranch
willberequiredtoprovidetwosuchloansrangingfromRs10lakhtoRs1crorewithout
collateralforsettingupanewenterprise.
UndertheschemepeoplefromScheduledCastesandScheduledTribes,andwomen
entrepreneurs,willgetsupportsuchaspreloantraining,facilitatingloan,factoringand
marketing.
TherewillbeaRs10,000crorerefinancewindowthroughSmallIndustriesDevelopmentBank
ofIndia(SIDBI)andtheNationalCreditGuaranteeTrusteeCompanyLtd(NCGTC)will
createacorpusofRs5,000crore.
SIDBIwillengagewiththeDalitIndianChamberofCommerceandIndustryandvarious
otherinstitutionstotaketheschemeforward.
TheofficesofSIDBIandNationalBankforAgricultureandRuralDevelopmentwillbe
designatedStandUpConnectCentres.
DebitCard(RuPay)willbeusedforwithdrawingworkingcapitalandhistoryofborrowerswill
bedeveloped.
