Methods training- Using

This was a valuable training

explaining the importance
of managing a classroom. I
have used tips from this
session in the Kindergarten
class that Im student
teaching in.
Out of all the trainings that
we had this one helped me
the most. I have found
myself referring back to her
sample lesson ideas the
most in RLA and my small
groups. I loved her word
family flip book idea so
much I have used it in a
presentation and in small
group instruction.
I loved the way that she is
so creative and that has
inspired me to be more
creative in class. Her songs
were wonderful and I loved
her idea about the coins for
rewards at the end of the
week. I plan on stealing
that idea for my own
classroom one day.
I loved the pictures that
from the PowerPoint they
used. They had so many
wonderful activities and
ideas. They gave me
wonderful insight on how a
classroom is ran.
This session amazed me
because she even has a
song for not using
worksheets. Teresa Guill
gives so many useful ideas
for worksheet free lessons.
I got some useful ideas for
using readers theater, tic
tac toe for reading
responses, using QARs, and

different stratigies

many other strategies. I

have used foldables, muscle
memory, and Jigsaw reading
since this training.

teachers
Planning period

During school Dr. Thomas

came in to teach the
teachers how to use things
like cards and a piece of
paper to teach fractions.
This training was useful and
will help me teach fractions
in the future.
Fifth grade teacher got
together to plan what test
prep material they would be
covering and plan the 5th
grade field trip. This will be
helpful in my future
classroom to see how to
prep for tests and plan trips.

4/7/16

Collaboration of
Kindergarten, Special
Education, and Title 1
Teachers.

After the facility senate

meeting the teachers went
into a training about
upcoming state testing. I
got firsthand view on how
schools and teachers
prepare for state testing. I
got to hear how they
administer the test and
what is allowed and not
allowed when testing. This
will be useful information
when I get my own
classroom.
In this session the teachers
got together and decided to
regroup chapters in ELA
Journeys book to keep like
chapters together and
discuss teaching strategies.
I got to see what it is like for
teachers to communicate

and plan lessons together. I

found the session useful and
I love the way they are
willing to assist one another.
The teachers met to discuss
what they would be doing
for the last few weeks of
school. They got together
and decided how they would
handle days off that one of
the teachers would have to
take off and what lessons
they needed to get in before
that time. They also
discussed what to do for
their class trips. They gave
notes to pass on to Title 1
teacher, and Special
Education teachers. This
was a valuable to see
because the teachers were
working together to make
sure that their classrooms
were covered. They work
more as a team than the
other grades I have seen.
