What is OET ?
OET stands for Occupational English Test, it is recognised by Australia,
New-Zealand, Singapore.

OET is specially designed for health-care sector practitioners who are


moving to English speaking context.

The maximum time limit for the test is 3 hours. The OET result is valid
for 2 years from the date the test is taken.

The test-taker has to score a minimum of grade-B in each skill

OET Listening Test


The OET listening test can be a challenge for numerous candidates.
It consists of two parts :

Part A - Is a consultation between two people


usually lasts 8-10 minutes.

Part B is a short lecture with just one person


speaking usually lasts 25-30 minutes.

you can easily ace the test.

OET Reading Test


The Reading test consists of two parts and takes 60
minutes to complete. It contains two papers.
Part A Is 15 minutes
Part B test lasts for 45 minutes
In order to ace in the reading test,

Try to speak as much English as you can.

This will help you get a better understanding of grammar


and sentence structure.

OET Writing Test


For the Writing test, you only have one task
and it takes 45 minutes to complete.

Within this section you must write a letter


based on the profession you have chosen.
Organise your writing in such a

way that it impresses the examiner.


You can use your medical knowledge

in this section as it is a profession based task.

OET Speaking Test


The Speaking sub-test is delivered individually and takes
around 20 minutes.

In this section you are being tested


on your ability to communicate,

especially with difficult patients.


The majority of time is devoted to you
to show off your speaking skills. The
interviewer will be advised to speak

minimally unless prompted by you with questions.

Here are some tips that may help you with your OET test :
Try to speak English as often as you can

You need to make a plan before you start the exam.
