It is certain that we live in a constantly changing world, and, needless to say, we have to adjust our
lifestyles in order to fully accomplish its increasing amount of demands. The overall quality of
qualifications needed in order to get a good job is increasing, forcing young people become more skilled
than they used to be.
It is a fact that there are less and less job offers and vacancies nowadays. In consequence, there are more
people applying for the same position than in the past. Regardless of the fact that it is making young
people strive harder and get better qualified in order to get a better job, the growing competition level is
also increasing the demands that the job has, making the position even harder to be achieved. As an
example, the candidates not only need a degree, but must also have experience in order to get even a
regular job nowadays.
Secondly, due to the fact that there are more universities and schools than in the past, education is
available to everyone, regardless how wealthy their families are. The industry has experienced a
consistent grow and students have acess to a wide range of grants, international programs and
undergraduate courses, giving them many opportunities to continue their studies. Likewise, getting higher
qualifications allows students to achieve a great sense of accomplishment, as well as to have valuable life
experiences, like the one of attending the prom with your friends.
In conclusion, it is my firm belief that young people are better qualified than they used to be because the
modern society provides them with more occasions to perfect and update their knowledge level than it did
in the past.
Equality for men and women
Even though the overall situation of women has improved in the past decades they are still discriminated
against when it comes to work. They get paid less than men for the same amount of work and in some
cases do not share the opportunities men to reach high-ranking positions. However this is starting to
change.
To begin with, at the end of 1800s female workers were employed mainly in factories or worked as
servants, due to the Industrial Revolution. However, only a few of them had jobs and the working
conditions were often appalling. The role of women has changed drastically during the 20th
century, when they got more educated and started working as nurses, teachers, even doctors and lawyers.
In the 1960s, women, for the first time, were able to access successful positions, because the
technological advance made it possible for them to handle career, family or even both. Many of
them graduated high school or college and found a job. From the 1970s women in developed
countries started to become a major part of the workforce.
In conclusion, I consider that females in the workforce have brought along many advantages for
industries and employers. They have a wider variety of workers to choose from and women often
have better ideas and alongside with men make positive contributions to the companies actions.
Nuvela este o specie a genului epic n proz, de dimensiuni medii, cuprinse ntre schi i roman,
cu un conflict concentrat, care urmrete evoluia unui personaj principal, de-a lungul unei
aciuni riguros organizate.
Nuvela n care eroul este surprins n situaia limit, urmrit de autor n cauzalitatea i evoluia ei
n contiin se numete nuvel psihologic. Nuvela psihologic se structureaz pe analiza
strilor de contiin
n literatura romn, nuvela psihologic se impune n perioada marilor clasici, prin activitatea
literar a lui Ioan Slavici. I. L. Caragiale, autor de referin prin comediile i schiele sale,
contureaz un univers tragic, al condiiei umane degradate, n cteva nuvele psihologice.
Tema nuvelei n vreme de rzboi, pe care autorul o numete schi, este una psihologic:
nnebunirea treptat i ireversibil a lui Stavrache, personajul principal. Sugestia este c n
psihicul unui om exist o fisur care se poate manifesta n anumite condiii, lrgindu-se treptat i
conducnd la prbuire.
Semnificaia simbolic a titlului evideniaz deschiderea spre nefiresc, spre posibilul nelimitat
ntr-o situaie de criz. Conflictul nuvelei este interior i se stabilete ntre aviditate
( dorina meninerii averii ) i teroarea pierderii avutului ( prin apariia fratelui )
ntmplare de cursa ntins de autoriti, dar oamenii din sat bnuiau deja lucruri
necurate.
Sosirea voluntarilor care pleac pe front este salvarea preotului. Dup un scurt sfat,
Stavrache metamorfozeaz nfiarea preotului, crend un nou personaj, o nou
identitate: D. Stavrache a luat o pereche de foarfece i a nceput s-i reteze
pletele, apoi tot mai scurt i mai scurt, unde mai bine, unde mai cu scri, l-a tuns la
piele, musclete. Apoi i-a tuns scurt barba, i-a spunit-o bine i la urm i-a ras-o cu
perdaf.
Plecarea preotului determin stingerea zvonurilor din sat. Moartea mamei l las singur pe
Stavrache, care primete o scrisoare de pe front ntr-un moment n care nu mai atepta nici o
veste de la acela pe care-l credea pierdut de-a binelea. Scrisoarea, din care nu este redat dect
incipi-tul, celelalte evenimente fiind relatate de narator, i strnete hangiului emoii
contradictorii. Scrisoarea sosete cu ntrziere n sat se tie deja c voluntarii se vor ntoarce
acas, fiindc rzboiul s-a sfrit. Interesndu-se despre tlharii prini, Stavrache afl c nimeni
nu a mai luat n considerare absena efului bandei. Monologul interior al hangiului, alctuit
printr-o succesiune de interogaii retorice, evideniaz obsesia personajului, care ncepe s
triasc teama de posibila ntoarcere a fratelui:
Dar o s-ndrzneasc s se mai ntoarc?
Ezitrile hangiului sunt semnificative. Obsesia pentru avere a dobndit proporii.
Hangiul devine rob al propriilor obsesii: O veni? n-o veni?, dar nu
contientizeaz amploarea patimii sale. Procesul de contiin este determinat de
teama provocat de posibila ntoarcere a fratelui, nu de remucri. O nou scrisoare
ar trebui s liniteasc sufletul zbuciumat al hangiului. A doua scrisoare, reprodus
integral, nu rezumat, ca prima, de o instan narativ supraordonat personajului,
aduce alte veti de pe front. Scris cu slov strin, misiva l informeaz pe
Stavrache despre moartea fratelui su, czut la datorie i care s-a stins cntndu-i
foarte frumos popete. Impresia pe care o produce aceast scrisoare asupra
hangiului este adnc: D. Stavrache a plns mult, mult, zdrobit de trista veste. Dar
un brbat trebuie s-i fac inim! Nu trebuie s se lase copleit de durere.
Consemnarea din exterior a reaciilor hangiului aduce o not ironic n textul
nuvelei. Dup ce pare zdrobit de durere, hangiul caut un avocat pentru a afla cum
poate intra n posesia averii fratelui.
. n realitate, gesturile i reaciile lui sunt urmrite cu atenie, studiate dintr-o
perspectiv obiectiv, neutr. Psihologia personajului se dezvluie prin privirea
dintr-o dubl perspectiv: a naratorului, care consemneaz reaciile,
comportamentul i a personajului nsui, care se dezvluie prin monologul interior.
Partea a doua prezint o alt realitate. Demersurile lui Stavrache au fost ncununate
de succes; el ajunge stpnul averii preotului, cu acte n regul, dup ce l consult
pe avocat.
