Dear Ms. Paczynski,
With this letter, I have addressed the results of each of the research tasks Part A and Part B. Part
A is asking for research and evaluation on the job I am interested in obtaining after graduation.
Part B asked for research and comments on the UNM Career Services website.
Research in the Engineering Industry as an after college employment revealed that it may be
more difficult than previously expected to get into, but also more rewarding than previously
expected. The outlook for employment of architecture and engineering jobs is projected to grow
a measly three percent. Even worse the demand for Aeronautical engineers will actually decrease
to negative two percent over the next eight years. The decrease in demand is said to be the
resultant of technology making the industry much more productive and efficient.
The education required to qualify for the industry is a Bachelors degree. With this an engineer
can expect to be working on the advancement of air and space vehicles such as. This may also
include working on national defense projects for both government and private contractors. This
something I definitely find intriguing.
The median pay has been evaluated to be over a hundred and five thousand annually, which is
exciting. Even more intriguing is the hope of not only building these systems but also being paid
to test the prototypes to make sure they function correctly.
In researching and exploring the UNM Office of Career Services website many beneficial
services were considered. Although the two most beneficial services pertaining to my situation
would be the Resume rescue and Jobs Career fair. The resume rescue to sharpen my resume the
more help and tips I can receive the better. The more exposure to the job market I can take
advantage the better. Being that UNM offers a career fair exposure is easier to obtain. Definitely
two services I would like to take advantage of in the future.
Sincerely,

Valerie Sims, Project Manager
City of Albuquerque
400 Marquette N.W.
Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87103.
Dear Ms. Sims:
I would like to apply to the 2016 Summer Seasonal Worker, office position which was
advertised on governmentjobs.com on February 8.
My education towards a technical degree will benefit your department significantly. With an
intended major in Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Mexico, I have been
studying and practicing the use of several softwares. This would include the complete
Microsoft suite for organizing and presenting information, google drive for group projects,
and Mat lab to calculate complex mathematical equations. Other platforms I continue to
practice to help organize information include AutoCAD, PTC creo, and several website
creator platforms including WordPress. In practicing on these platforms I have learned to
communicate clearly and concisely, and am capable of quickly learning whatever computer
platform or process needed.
My job history includes a lot of time working independently. More specifically when
working on set catering the work load is enormous and the amount of staff is short. To be
able to provide, the catering company hired me to fill all gaps. The process is the staff give
me instructions to finish any project they need done and I complete it to the best of my
capability or find who can. This way they can get on to the next more important task. Most
times I am given ample instructions and left alone to complete it. I follow these instructions
as closely as possible. Other jobs I have worked that will benefit your department, my
knowledge of safety precautions learned; as a professional mover, hours working doing
electrical work, and achieving the highest level possible in Boy scouts.
Finally, I would bring another skill set to your department: a background in public speaking
and hundreds of hours of charitable service. I have led several community service projects
across New Mexico to benefit the UNM childrens hospital, St. Pius High school, and the
Great Southwest Council.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you about this exciting position. I
can be contacted at (505-100-1000) or via email (deguiob1@gmail)
Sincerely,
