Planning Memo Project #3: UNCC Atkins Library

Wireless Printing Guide
--Audience for this project is recipients of the final report will be: the
faculty and students of UNCC.
--The primary purpose of the test is to perform user tests to identify
where users encounter problems in printing wirelessly in the library.
The purpose of the usability tests will be to create a reference guide to
the wireless printing in the library, which as of now, lacks accessibility
because of unclear and perhaps outdated guides posted around library.
--Particular topics/tasks to be included in the work:

Materials I will prepare to organize usability test:

o Copy of the old reference guide
o 2-3 usability tests of the current wireless printing
o Review and analyze results
Produce quick reference guide in Adobe InDesign either for online
access or printed sheet for library to post

--Research and reporting schedule

April 13: Create user tests and print task list. Schedule user
tests.
April 18: Complete all user tests. Produce test summaries.
April 20: Revision Work
April 27: Peer Editing
May 2: Rough draft of Project #3 due

-- Tone or voice we hope to project in researching and reporting the

observations: we intend to be non-leading and non-judgmental in our
interviews and usability tests. We will strive for objective results based
on observations of our test participants experience. The reference
guide should be easily read and accessible.
