To Whom It May Concern:

I had the pleasure of having Ms. Davis in my 4 th grade room for the fall semester. Once
state testing is complete, she will return for the last four weeks of the school year.
I was immediately impressed upon meeting Ms. Davis because she was direct and
specific about what she wanted. She approached me during Sneak Peak and
expressed her interest in working in a 4th grade classroom through her Ready, Set,
Teach program and asked if Id be willing to work with her. Without even knowing the
details of her internship, I happily agreed and have never looked back.
While in my classroom, Ms. Davis worked with small guided reading groups. She
helped plan the lessons based on TEKS and the reading level of the group. She also
met with students for one-on-one conferences about their expository compositions to
assist them with idea development, revising, and editing. She also taught whole group
grammar and reading mini-lessons. She is a natural at developing activities that center
around technology. She is currently planning an online book for our poetry project that
the students will do in May. She will head up teaching the necessary technology skills
beforehand that the students will be need to complete the project.
Her strengths are well suited to the teaching profession. She is confident and pays
attention to details. She seeks direction and guidance but isnt dependent. She sees
what needs to be done and makes decisions about how to accomplish it. She stays on
top of deadlines and does not wait until the last minute to begin working on
assignments. When state testing approached, she was flexible with moving down to 1 st
grade for twelve weeks. Like all teachers, Ms. Davis still has areas for growth and
development, yet she responds well to advice and constructive criticism, which is not
always easy to do.
In my thirteen years, I never expected that a high school student would come in and do
as well as Ms. Davis has. I look forward to her return to 4 th grade in May and hope that
she continues to pursue her college career in the education field.
Sincerely,
Ms. Leila Jamnik
