The first source I have considered for Project 2 is chapter 2 of Sherman Alexie: A

Collection of Critical Essays. The essay focuses on how Alexie uses a lot of dark
humor in his novels and provides examples of that dark humor which is based on
poverty and other social issues. I believe this is evident in the other novels we have
read as well.

The second source I have considered for Project 2 is chapter 1 of Sherman Alexie: A
Collection of Critical Essays. This chapter is an essay that examines how the 1890
Ghost Dance and the Wounded Knee massacre is used in a number of his works
particularly for metaphors of native resistance. However, it does not include Flight
and True Diary, and I believe that leaves for the opportunity to make connection
especially to Flight.
