HIDDEN CHILDREN
The Struggles Of The Children During The
Holocaust From 1938-39 to 1944-45
PLAYTIME FOR CHILDREN DURING THE
HOLOCAUST
It was hard for children to enjoy themselves and take their minds off of facing possible death. In addition
to the Jewish genocide many Jewish families went into hiding, resulting in lost of values and lost of toys.
When discrimination against Jews first started and they were ushered into ghettos, which still allowed
children to play. But in 19 when the Nazi’s started to execute the Jews, children didn’t have no source of
play and were forced to worked majority killed. This made toys even more valuable along with snacks
and sweets that kids enjoy. Below are some pictures of Jewish children playing during times of the
Holocaust.
EDUCATION DURING THE HOLOCAUST
Education was a privilege to most kids during the holocaust. Since many
Jews weren't’ allowed to obtain government jobs most took on the rolls
as teachers in Jewish ghettos teaching the children since they were
prohibited from public schools. Many children portrayed school as a
norminality for their lives especially kids in hiding. They would often
read and write to educate themselves and to eliminate the boredom and
fear of their daily lives. Below are pictures of Jewish children attending
school
