Write a brief summary of transcription and translation. Your writing should clearly show you understand concepts
covered including but not limited to, mRNA, tRNA, rRNA, Codons, Anti-codons, Ribosome, Nucleus, Nucleolus).
Transcription shows the process of making an RNA copy of a gene sequence, a copy called messenger RNA also better
known as mRNA. It leaves the cellular nucleus and then enters the cytoplasm and that is where it directs the synthesis
of the protein which is encoded. The mRNA is then bound by a ribosome, which reads the message in groups of 3
letters, or bases, known as codons. Each triplet codes for a specific amino acid to be joined to a growing string of
amino acids to form a protein molecule. Each amino acid is carried to the ribosome by a tRNA molecule ( t is transfer)
with a specific anti-codon, which is complementary in sequence to the codon in the mRNA being read. Translation is
the process of reading the mRNA codon, binding the tRNA with the right anti-codon, and linking the amino acid
carried by that tRNA into the growing protein strand.
