Blends & Digraphs

Chart

A blends and digraphs chart can be used in so many ways in your

classroom!
Guided Reading groups: Begin reading groups each day by
reciting the blend and digraph chart.
Homework: Send a copy home for practice with parents.
Independent Practice: Put a copy in each students Bag of
Books or Book Box and/or copy at a reduced size and put on
students desks or tables.
Independent Writing: Put a copy in students writing folder.
Word Work activity: Laminate a copy and give a child a dry
erase marker. They can Read the Room and cross out a
square when they spot the blend or digraph!
{Ways to Read the Chart}
Use different voices, such as an
underwater voice, monster voice, tiny voice, whisper voice,
or opera voice. Kiddos love to use these voices!
{Materials needed}
Laminated blends and digraphs charts
Optional pointers (popsicle sticks, witch fingers, etc) to point
to each letter
