Statement of the Problem

This study determined the level of knowledge and preventive practices

about HIV among adolescents.
The study answered the following questions:
1. What is the level of knowledge of adolescents when grouped according to:
1.1Nature and mode of transmission of HIV
1.2Consequences of having HIV
1.3Sexual awareness
1.4Contraceptive awareness
2. What is the level of preventive practice done by adolescents in terms of:
1.1Sex abstinence
1.2Being faithful to an uninfected partner
1.3Safe sex or use of contraceptives
1.4HIV testing
3. Is there a significant relationship between level of knowledge about HIV and
level of preventive practices among male and female adolescents?

Hypothesis
The hypothesis was tested at 0.01 level of significance.
Ho. There is significant relationship between level of knowledge and level of
preventive practices among male and female adolescents
