SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS
A. Over-all Description of the Barangay
1. History of Barangay Salvacion
Before the 2nd World War, Brgy. Salvacion was called
Agrupasyon. This name was attached to this barangay
even during the Spanish Government.
During the administration of Mayor Conrado Carpina,
the people of this barangay decided to install at the first
Teniente del Barrio, who served for some years. As time
moved on, and changing leadersip of the barangay, the
title of Teniente del Barrio was changed to Barangay
Captain.
As years went by, school children were also
increasing so the need for class rooms within the barangay
was necessary. With the philanthropic character of the late
Valentin Miranda, his house was donated to serve as the
class room to the school children. This was the first school
house of Sitio Agrupasyon. The place remained a sitio and
when Mayor Pio Meridas administration came, the
Municipal Councilors made a resolution to transfer Sitio
Agrupasyon into a barangay. Through a meeting, the
residents of the barangay decided to name Sitio
Agrupasyon to Barangay Salvacion which was taken from
the name of Virgen Nuestra Seora de Salvacion, meaning
saviour.
