Daily Writing #1:

For my semester long project I plan on doing research on the Carolina Panthers. They are
currently having a great season with the phenomenal Cam Newton at quarterback. I plan on
researching the impact that the Panthers have on Charlotte economically, the creation of the
Panthers, the personal life of Kam Newton, and any other idea that comes to mind. Hopefully in
this process I can get an interview with the Panthers general manager.
Daily Writing #2:
As of now, given the minimum amount of research that I have done so far along with my group
members, I am more than comfortable with this topic. In fact, there is a lot more buzz around the
Panthers which gives us more resources to gather our information. Therefore, I believe we will
be very productive.
Daily Writing #3:
There has been plenty of times when I have been assigned a topic that did not peek my interest.
One topic in particular that was not in my interest was Macbeth, a play by William Shakespeare.
My assignment was to research and present the play to the class. For one, I was completely
unenthusiastic about it. I didnt like the play from the nor when we watched it on video. I had no
motivation to do a good job on this project. However, that does not mean I slacked off. I received
a grade of 92 on this project. Although, I didnt like the assignment I still worked on the project
with much effort because I am big on receiving only grade of a B or better. But I do believe a
more interesting topic would have slightly impacted my grade for the better.

Daily Writing #4:

In my experience with group work too often there has been a problem with at least one of my
group members. The worst is when one of my group members doesnt show up class. I cant
even recall the amount of times that this has happened to me. In fact, there was a time when I had
to complete mostly everything on a project by myself due to my partner not showing up for class
nor replying to my texts for the project. Hopefully I wont have to go through that over the
course of this semester.
Daily Writing #5:
I can recall one time when I found the perfect support for my project. I had to do a project last
semester that required me to research vegetarian diets for my LBST. It was pretty simple.
However, the trick was finding someone to interview. I went around asking different teachers
and students if they were vegetarians. Sadly, I had no luck. Then I branched out to people outside
of the university. While driving around the city of Charlotte I came across an urban farm. My
luck soon changed. I went to check out the urban farm and to my surprise, the people who were
working on the farm were all vegetarians. This gave me a huge advantage given the fact that I
got to interview a whole group of vegetarians. This gave a boost to my projected which resulted
with an A grade.

Daily Writing #6:

Critical reflection is an outcome that has been identified in many different areas of my life. This
ranges from school to my family life. One example would be when I quit my job. I used to work
at McDonalds and I realized that it wasnt for me. But it wasnt until people constantly ask me

the same question of why I quit. It wasnt until then that I realized by thinking about the answer
to that question was a form of critical reflection. I had to think about all my experiences and the
problems that were involved with that job. I was reflecting on the choice made which is also
similar to what I do in school when it comes to compositions and projects.

Daily Writing #7:

There was a time when I had an interview by a member of the Rutgers University (New
Brunswick) administration for a scholarship opportunity. The best part of this interview was I
asked to explain my reasoning for wanting be a part of their campus as student. I couldnt have
been more excited to answer this question. I live in a city in New Jersey near the campus of
Rutgers University. I have always been fascinated by the school and took numerous visits. I
pretty much know campus inside and out. It was like I already attended the school given the fact
I was there almost every weekend. Not to mention that I have a wide background of friends and
family who either attend or attended the university. I am also a big fan of their sports teams and
try to make every football and basketball game that I could. Obviously I was fit for this campus.
My enthusiasm and knowledge of the school resulted with a partial scholarship to attend Rutgers.

Daily Writing #8:

The first time I used a computer was in elementary school. Around this time, as Myspace was
becoming popular, online computer gaming was highly favored by children in my school. Thus,
the first time I used a computer was to sign up for an online game called Adventure Quest. Then
as I got older Power Points were introduced in my class. When I was first introduced to this new

use of presentation I thought to myself, how could I ever create something like that? However, as
I became more experienced with Power Points it became easier to form a great presentation with
creative designs. All in all I am very satisfied with the creation of Power Points.
Daily Writing #9:
Im taking care of my procrastination issues. Just you wait and see. This quote stands out to
me because it can relate to me the most. I realized that I like to procrastinate for anything that I
dont want to do. Im the type of person to put things off until the very last minute. However, no
matter how much I procrastinate I always get my work done.
Daily Writing #10:
In much of society, research means to investigate something you do not know or understand.
This quote by Neil Armstrong stands out to me because it describes my meaning of research.
Research is a tool that is used to prove something is right or wrong and it can provide more in
depth explanations of words, phrases, or any other information we do not fully understand. For
example, whenever I come across a word I cant comprehend I go straight to google from my
phone and search its definition. Once I type in the word and click search hundreds of results pop
up, from definitions to online articles and videos that relates to that word. That is why I agree
with this quote.
Daily Writing #11:
We need to consider the type of language and vocabulary that we use when writing to different
audiences. The style of writing depends on who will be reading it. For example, a childrens
book would not be directed towards adults. In a childrens book one would stray away from
extended paragraphs or intense vocabulary. Unlike someone who is writing to adults, a

childrens book will probably include an array of pictures with different colors instead of
ongoing pages of colorless and excessive text. One also has to take in the type of phrases or
sayings when writing to an audience. You simply cant record a phrase in your writing that is
only relatable in your specific environment or between you and your friends. This will only
confuse the audience. All of these aspects can have big impact on your writing. Depending on
the audience two people can have completely different compositions even writing about the same
topic with the exact same information.
Daily Writing #12:
List 5 points that we want to make in our semester long project. Beside each point show how we
write/present.
-Economic Impact: One way we will present this aspect is by giving an overview of the ticket
prices from when the Panthers first started as a franchise to the present.
-The Beginning of the Panthers: In this topic we will explain the origin of the Panthers. We will
explain how the Panthers made it to Charlotte and the success as a team from their first couple of
seasons.
-History of Crimes: For this topic we will discuss some of recent crimes committed by former
players of the Panthers. This will cover what the players were charged with and the outcome of
the situation.
-Behind the Scenes: This part of our presentation will cover everything the players do on their
off time. This can range from charity events and their hobbies.

-The Fans: This point will incorporate the impact that Panthers has made in Charlotte. We will
present this by showing vivid of pictures and videos of the Bank of America stadium filled with
loud and enthusiastic fans on game days.

Daily Writing #13:

As humans we are not perfect. We are destined to make errors no matter what. Although I would
love to generate error free work every time, I know I am bound to make an error at some point.
The worst part make of not creating error free work is not being able to correct it. For example,
when it comes to essays, based on my experience I usually never create error free work. This is
what I call a rough draft. In a rough draft, I am allowed to make as many mistakes as I can. Once
I finish the rough draft I can go back and check for any errors and make corrections. The benefit
of making errors is knowing not to make the same mistake. One example would be misspelling a
word. When you misspell it the first time you will be more aware of its spelling the next time
when you have to use that word again. Therefore, I believe making errors is never harmful but
advantageous for the future.

Daily Writing #14:

Given the fact that it is almost spring break, my classes are getting quite stressful. I dont know
about everyone else but I am being over loaded with work for most of my classes. It seems as
though my teachers are desperately trying to squeeze grades in before we go off to spring break.
No matter what the reason may be, tt is still stressful. I have been staying up night after night
trying to get all this work done and having this class at eight in the morning is not helping. That

is why I may seem exhausted coming into class recently. But that has nothing to do with this
specific class. It is just a stressful time right now, but my spirits should be back up after all this
work is done and coming back from spring break.
Daily Writing #15:
One of our topics that we will presenting to the class is the history of the Carolina Panthers. This
will include the very start of the Panthers, when the Panthers. For instance, Charlotte, North
Carolina was not the first place in mind to build the 29th NFL franchise. However, through much
effort Jerry Richardson, who is the current owner of this franchise, was able to bring the Panthers
to Charlotte. What many people may not know is that the Carolina Panthers could have been
playing in combination with Charlottes Motor Speedway. Hopefully this will be new and
interesting information to the class.
Daily Writing #16:
There is a thing in which I have come to love unimaginably. Although it did not have the luxury
of traveling with me into this new city I know it is in good care. Its not the best looking thing in
the world but I could care less. Sometimes I think it has a mind of its own. It may seem like
everything is in top notch shape one day and then break down the next. However, I cant say that
I regret any moment we have been through. It goes wherever I go when I travel.
Daily Writing #17:
Looking back at the times I spent here at UNCC I can recall going through some tough
situations. For instance, recently I ran out of my DB meal plan. Anybody who attends UNCC
with a meal plan knows that DB is one of the most important things to save here. The toughest
decision was deciding what to spend the last of my money on in my DB which was $3.52. This is

not a lot of DB, given the fact that everything on campus is over price. I had to take into
consideration that if I spend the last of this DB it would be more difficult to get a good meal after
class. I also had to realize that I would use up more swipes to the caf. I decided to use the last of
my DB. I cant say that I am happy with the decision and but keeping that much of DB was not
going to benefit me much.
Daily Writing #18:
Good morning class! Today I will be teaching you a little about the Panthers. I am not talking
about the Panthers that you see in the zoo, but the amazing Carolina Panthers. Have any of you
ever. This is a football team who is the best of the best. They actually have a superhuman on
their team. His name is Cam Newton, the quarter back who helps lead this team through many
battles. Cam Newton can do about anything, from flying over people to make a touchdown or
throwing a football farther than you can ever imagine. Nobody on this planet can beat these guys.
They are unstoppable!
Daily Writing #19:
At this point in the semester, I basically have my portfolio laid out. I have all the tabs and the
design of the project completed, but I am just missing the information to go into it. For instance,
I am waiting to receive the last bit of daily writings and any other assignments that need to be
incorporated into this portfolio. Also, I have to attend to the reflection letter. I was planning on
doing the reflection letter after I have a completed every assignment and uploaded them to my EPortfolio. I may have to tweak some areas on my home page and add some more descriptions
about me. Other than those specific tasks, I feel as though I am in a good position with my
portfolio.

Daily Writing #20:

Looking past the project I am glad I got to meet the people that are in my group. They each had
different personalities but we all had similar interest. That is why we were able to get along from
the start. For instance, we all love the Carolina Panthers and their famed quarterback Cam
Newton. However, if it wasnt for this project I dont believe I would have been able to share
that connection between any of my group members. It amazes me how much you can have in
common with someone that may dress, talk, and live differently. I cant say I regret any moment
of being a part of this group. I could not ask for a better team.
