Heat energy of uniform temperature [is] the ultimate fate of all

energy. The power of sunlight and coal, electric power, water


power, winds and tides do the work of the world, and in the end
all unite to hasten the merry molecular dance.

I have no doubt that we will be successful in harnessing the


sun's energy. If sunbeams were weapons of war, we would
have had solar energy centuries ago

In time, manufacturing will to a great extent follow the sun.


[Speculating that with development of solar power the deserts
would become great industrial areas.]

Solar is now bankable. When solar was perceived as more risky


it required a premium [and now its] becoming part of a much
broader capital market.

This afternoon, I've arranged for this ceremony to be


illuminated by solar power. [While outdoors, in daylight,
dedicating solar panels on the White House roof.]

Today, in directly harnessing the power of the Sun, we're taking


the energy that God gave us, the most renewable energy that
we will ever see, and using it to replace our dwindling supplies of
fossil fuels.
