Activity E7: Zip lining
Source: Russell, K. C., & Hendee, J. C. (2000). Outdoor behavioral healthcare: definitions,
common practices, and a nationwide survey of programs (Idaho Forest, Wildfire, and Range
Experiment Station Rep. No. 26). Moscow, ID: University of Idaho.
Equipment: Safety Harness
Activity Description:
1. Greet everyone with a hello.
2. Have everyone line up next to the zip line launch point.
3. One client at a time will hook on to the line and they will go down the line, where an
assistant will be waiting for them.
Leadership Considerations:
When propelling clients into the air, the harnesses have to be safe for everyone. But
because of the harness being used for everyone, the activity itself does not require further
adaptation.
