Word Prompt #10:
Our original project proposal was very well planned out and we each had individual jobs
within the project. Now that we have actually started the project we have discovered that it is not
as easy to find what we need to find for each slide that we assigned each other too. We have also
broadened our research topics by looking in certain places that we originally did not think to
look. I was not expecting to find so little on a few topics. For instance we chose to do a slide on
nightlife. I was expecting to find a lot on this since Charlotte is such a busy city. However, I
‘overed, through my research, that most of the “fun” stuff happened during the day. I found a
lot of information on tailgating and things like that during the game, but close to nothing on the
nightlife associated with the Carolina Panthers. With our project topic, we focused more on
rhetorical knowledge. We had to determine our audience and we practiced presenting to different
audiences. I think that the easiest SLO was the rhetorical knowledge because, it was easier with
our topics to be able to shape it to fit who we needed to present to, since it is such a well-known
topic. 7
