Please add specific comments about the student teachers observed strengths during this
teaching practicum and identify areas in which you feel further development is
necessary.
Observed Strengths: /

You have a very detailed lesson plan and

it is evident that you have spent some
time working on the plan.
The class was very well managed.
You have excellent ideas to conduct
inquiry based lesson. All of the
ingredients were there such as
experimenting, collecting data, and
sharing of information. However, you
must speak with confidence to deliver the
lesson as it was intended. Students
should be able to listen to your
instructions, internalize, and apply.

Areas in which further development is needed:

From the first observation, we talked about the
need to provide students with work that are at their
level. Asking students to draw a solar collector is
above their understanding. Second graders are
unable to think about abstract idea at this state.
Your plan includes all the strategies and tools such
as time watch, collecting data as well
communicating. However, the purpose of the
activities were not explained and the students
couldnt make connection the activities to real life
application.
Part of your plan should include what the students
will be doing while waiting for something to happen.
For instance, the students were waiting for the
aluminum foil to heat up and they were simply
observing each other.
Increase the pace of the class where too much time
is not being wasted. Must be more decisive in your
lesson by introducing the lesson with confidence,
explain to the students what they will do and for
what purpose, then let them explore the concept by
themselves. Last, You have a summary discussion.
