Dear Teachers,

Thank you so much to those of you who

participated in the survey.
Here are the results:
The strongest overall category was instruction. Two of the three highest scoring items
were in the area of instruction. They were Teachers make high quality instruction a school
priority and Teachers set high, but appropriate and achievable goals for students. The third
highest scoring item was in the area of school climate The teachers consider the interests and
needs of the students. The teachers at this school are confident in their instruction and caring.
While instruction is clearly an area of strength for this school some respondents made similar
comments such as We do so much for the low children and so little for the advanced children.
or High end students needs are not met. We spend all of our money, energy and time on the
lower ability kids. In a school where 30% of the population is identified as disabled attending to
the full range of abilities can be challenging.
The overall weakest category was the area of behavior. Specifically, students are
disciplined in a fair and consistent manner was rated comparatively low. Finally, the other two
lowest scoring items are in the category of school climate. The first is Parent and parent groups

disappointment in the lack of parent involvement, such as Only two parents in PTO. :( The last
low scoring item was I am informed about school events in a timely manner.
Summary
Overall, the results of the survey demonstrate that this is a strong school with dedicated
staff who have a strength in instruction. Teachers make high quality instruction a priority and set
high, but appropriate and achievable goals for students. They consider the interests and needs
of the students. Two areas that arose in the survey that staff would like to improve are:
1. Increased parent involvement, particularly in the PTO.
2. Behavior, specifically in the consistency of discipline.
