INTRODUCTION
Our study is comparing the score of a buck(in inches) to the
age(years) of the hunter who harvested that deer in the
corresponding year
Our hypothesis is that the older the age of the hunter, the buck
they harvested shall score higher
So if the age of the hunter goes up, then the score of the buck
should be higher
We estimate the correlation of the graph to be moderate
We used a sample survey and interviewed hunters to find out their
age and the score of the buck they
harvested that year
DATA SET
The population of our data is all Hunters
The sample is The Boyle family
The variables are age of the hunters (in years) and the
score of the bucks harvested (in inches)

DATA TABLE
INTERPRETATION
The r being 0.142 means that there is a very weak correlation
between the age of the hunter and the score of the buck they
harvested the corresponding year
The direction of the correlation is positive
So when x(age of hunter) increases, Then y(Score of Buck) also
increases
The r^2 gives the percent of accuracy therefore the correlation is
somewhat valid, with 2% accuracy
PREDICTION
With the equation y = 0.317x + 51.801 we predict that a
hunter of age 50
The buck the hunter harvest that year will score
67.651inches
LURKING VARIABLES
Antler restrictions (limit on how small a
harvested deer can be) put in place in the
year 2002
Desire of the hunter to shoot a large buck
The weather during the hunting season
All these variables can affect the size of
the buck harvested
CONCLUSION
Our hypothesis is that the older the age of the hunter, the buck
they harvested shall score higher
Our hypothesis was proven to be somewhat correct based on
the data we collected
There is a positive correlation showing that as the age of the
hunter increases, then the score of the buck harvested will
increase with 2% accuracy
